A member of the NFL players' negotiating team told the AP that a 24-hour extension in NFL labor talks had been reached Thursday.

Two sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen and ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter earlier Thursday that an extension of the talks toward a new collective bargaining agreement between NFL owners and the players' union was "definitely a possibility."

The owners made a significant enough proposal to the players Thursday which may be enough to "stop the clock" and continue negotiations on a new CBA that would delay a work stoppage, sources said.

They couldn't be making actual progress and possibly coming to their senses, could they?

Stay tuned, as always.
