Preview: The injury-riddled Oilers, with 10 players out, have lost eight in a row, having been outscored 32-6 during that stretch. Two of the losses have come to the Wild, which has won four in a row and is 5-0-2 in its past seven road games (outscoring opponents 23-13). Edmonton is so shorthanded it has been playing with 17 skaters (five defensemen) recently.

Players to watch: Wild D Brent Burns has OT winners in back-to-back games. Hard-hitting LW Derek Boogaard has injured three Oilers in the past four games. F's Marian Gaborik, Pavol Demitra and Brian Rolston all have 26 career points vs. Edmonton. Gaborik has no goals in a season-high five consecutive games. C Mikko Koivu has three goals in his past two games. Of the Oilers' six goals in the past eight games, five have come from Bloomington's Toby Petersen and Fernando Pisani.

Numbers: Seventeen of the Wild's 40 victories have come in overtime or shootouts. ... The Wild can set a team record for road victories (18) by beating the Oilers. ... According to the Elias Sports Bureau, before Burns, the last NHL player to score an OT goal in consecutive games was Philadelphia's Sami Kapanen (Dec. 28-29, 2005).

Injuries: Wild C Wes Walz (back) is questionable. Notable Oilers out include C Jarret Stoll (concussion), D Steve Staios (knee), C Petr Nedved (knee), RW Ales Hemsky (shoulder), C Marty Reasoner (shoulder) and D Jan Hejda (shoulder).
