(UPDATE: Justin Morneau said today that he still hopes to be ready for the opener at Toronto. "Which would be ironic because that's where I got hurt," he said.

My goodness. It seems like there's a storm in Minneapolis within two weeks following my departure for spring training. I feel for you guys up there. Hope everyone is safe.

But that is one reason why covering baseball rocks. All I have to do is get through January and I'm out of the icebox.

The big news down here this morning is that first baseman Justin Morneau just arrived. He plans to talk to the media around noon CDT. Stay tuned.

Ben Revere, Denard Span and Matt Tolbert were among the other players to report to camp today. Delmon Young has had his car delievered (that's how MLB players roll) so he should be here soon.

Revere was asked to cut back on his muscles during during the offseason. He doesn't throw well, but there was a belief that his bulk up top might hurt his throwing. He said he has better range of motion in his throwing arm after altering his workouts.

Span is coming off a little bit of a down year.(.264 avg, .331 OBP). In the past, he's had to find reasons to get mad going into the season. He says he's found his motivation.

``I'm mad," he said, ``I'm just not going to tell you what I'm mad about."

Kyle Gibson and Pat Neshek are among pitchers on the mound today I wouldn't mind watching today, That's my goal. Let's see if I can make it to the bullpen in time.

I'll check in after the workout.
