Rick Gosselin of The Dallas Morning News has released his annual special teams rankings and the Vikings finished in the middle of the NFL for the 2010 season. Gosselin's rankings are highly respected in league circles. He ranks the 32 teams in 22 different categories and assigns them points. The Vikings finished tied for No. 18 in the rankings. They were first in field-goal percentage (94.4) but finished last in opponent starting point (30.8-yard line). The New England Patriots finished first in the rankings. Gosselin wrote that seven playoff teams finished in the Top 10. However, the Green Bay Packers finished 29th, which tied New Orleans in 2009 for the lowest finish by a Super Bowl champion.
