Brad Childress could sit out next season and simply collect a paycheck from Vikings owner Zygi Wilf.

But more and more it's looking as if Childress wants to work. This past weekend, he was (as far as we know) in Miami to interview with the Dolphins for their offensive coordinator job. Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports now that Childress was seen in that town tonight having dinner with Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. Reedy first posted the information on his twitter account.

The Bengals offensive coordinator is Bob Bratkowski, who isn't exactly popular in Cincinnati these days. The Bengals offense finished 20th in the league in total yardage this season, marking the third consecutive year it has been 20th or lower.

Lewis met with Reedy today and gave the impression that Bratkowski will be back for an 11th season. Childress and Lewis are friends so there is a possibility they were just having dinner. But this is a time of a year when assistant coaching positions get filled so it's interesting the two were talking.

Here is Reedy's blog item on the situation.
