Michael Steele, the Republican Party's gaffe-plagued national chairman, was scheduled to headline a luncheon in Minneapolis Wednesday hosted by the state GOP's Elephant Club.
The luncheon and reception at the Minneapolis Hilton has an admission fee, but appears to be mostly a recruiting tool for the Elephant Club. For $1,000 a year, contributors can become members ($500 for folks younger than 40).
The club is an offshoot of the state party that is, in its own words, "dedicated to turning Minnesota RED."
