Brett Favre talked Thursday about the work he has to do when it comes to getting on the same page with his wide receivers. What we didn't know when the quarterback said this was he wasn't able to take part in all of the day's practice at Winter Park.

Favre, who has been on the injury report all season after having surgery on his left ankle last spring, was limited for the first time in practice on Thursday. Reporters aren't able to watch the entire session so we don't know how much Favre missed. He also was listed with a back injury last week but that is no longer on the report.

Favre spoke in depth during his weekly news conference -- one that he said was bumped back a day because he didn't want to miss any of an offensive meeting on Wednesday -- about how this season has been like starting over because of all the new receivers he is working with. The latest is Hank Baskett, who was let go by Philadelphia on Tuesday and signed by the Vikings a day later.

Wide receiver Percy Harvin returned to the practice field after missing Wednesday because of a migraine headache. Harvin was limited because of a strained right hip that he aggravated on Sunday against the Dolphins.

Also limited again were wide receiver Bernard Berrian (knee), cornerback Cedric Griffin (knee) and linebacker Ben Leber (back). Rookie cornerback Chris Cook (knee) participated in all of practice for a second consecutive day and likely will be good to go Sunday if the Vikings choose to use him.

Defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy (knee), left tackle Bryant McKinnie (finger) and center John Sullivan (calf) also did not miss any practice time.

For the Lions, wide receiver Nate Burleson (ankle) did not practice for a second consecutive day and likely won't play Sunday against the Vikings. Also sitting out: linebacker Zack Follett (concussion), guard Stephen Peterman (foot) and quarterback Matthew Stafford (right shoulder).

Safety Louis Delmas (groin, biceps, calf), defensive end Cliff Avril (knee, finger), safety C.C. Brown (forearm), linebacker DeAndre Levy (groin) and linebacker Ashlee Palmer (ankle) were all limited.
