CHICAGO -- The White Sox are 20-2 in their past 22 home games, so they'll be happy to be back at U.S. Cellular Field tonight after losing three of four in Baltimore.

The Twins are 4-3 on a road trip that has taken them to Tampa Bay and Cleveland. The weather here, like back home, is sauna-like. So fly balls probably will be flying out of The Cell. It's so much different here for hitters in August than it is in April.

The Twins have signed a two-year extension with ESPN 1500 for their metro-area radio rights, keeping them there through at least 2012. Judd Zulgad has the story here.

Gordon Beckham (sore groin) is not in the lineup for the White Sox, though he told reporters on Monday that he was optimistic for Wednesday.

Update: Justin Morneau worked out at Target Field on Tuesday. There had been hope he'd come to Chicago and possibly begin a rehab stint for Class AAA Rochester. "He's working out at home. Decided just to stay away from everything here [cameras, reporters, etc.] and work out at home. He's comfortable there and he's comfortable working out at home."

Asked if Morneau had a setback, Gardenhire said, "No, he's just doing his work at home, rather than flying in here to camera heaven."

Later, when asked about how well the Twins have played without Morneau, Gardenhire mentioned the way Michael Cuddyer has filled in at first base and how Jim Thome's presence helps, too.

"You just keep playing and hopefully we'll get him back and we'll be better for it when we do," Gardenhire said.

* There will be a roster move after the game, with Glen Perkins being added. Alexi Casilla's left ankle feels better -- "He said it's 70-something percent," Gardenhire said -- so likely move would be to send Trevor Plouffe to Rochester. As we saw Saturday, those things can change.

* Perkins on what it means to be back: "I've been through a lot, especially the way the year went down there [in Rochester]. It wasn't always pretty, but it's that old cliche -- it's not how you start, it's how you finish."

* Perkins on Nick Blackburn, who has a 1.59 ERA after two starts for Rochester. "His sinker is as good as I've ever seen. [Saturday] The other night, a guy bunted back to him, a pop up, and I think the next 11 guys grounded out. He's pretty impressive."
