Top Republicans in Congress will lead the party's national convention in St. Paul next month, according to a Republican National Committee announcement Wednesday. Convention officers oversee the proceedings.

House Republican leader John Boehner, a nine-term congressman from Ohio, will serve as permanent chairman of the convention. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky will be the temporary chairman.

Deputy permanent co-chairs for the convention include Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer; former New Hampshire State Chairman Steve Duprey; David Roederer of Iowa; Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla.; Kathleen Shanahan of Florida; and Michigan National Committeeman Chuck Yob.
