The Capitol chandelier was illuminated for Statehood Week.

Sen.  Roger Reinert, DFL-Duluth and Rep. Jennifer Loon, R-Eden Prairie held a news conference to explain why Minnesota will have to wait at least another year before beer can be sold on Sunday and left the door open to a possible constitutional amendment.

Minority leader Kurt Daudt got a surprise gift.

Medical Marijuana bill author Rep. Carly Melin got some engouraging words from Majority Leader Erin Murphy half way through the floor debate.

Rep. Rod Hamilton, R-Mountain Lake, looked up at families who are advocates for the bill.  He said he changed his mind and will vote yes for  this bill.  He has MS and could benefit from medical marijuana. 

Medical marijuana advocates hugged after the vote.   The House passed the medical marijuana bill by an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 86-39.
