U.S. Rep. Chip Cravaack
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Republican Rep. Chip Cravaack (cruh-VAK') has almost $900,000 to spend as he runs for re-election in a nationally watched race in northeastern Minnesota.
Cravaack's campaign said Friday that he raised more than $393,000 from April through June and started July with more than $898,000 on hand.
Cravaack is a top Democratic target after unseating longtime Democratic Rep. Jim Oberstar in one of 2010's biggest upsets. But a Democratic primary fight is giving him time to build up his resources.
He will face the winner of the Aug. 14 primary between Democrats Jeff Anderson, Tarryl (TEHR'-uhl) Clark and Rick Nolan.
Clark said Thursday she had $260,000 at the end of June. Anderson and Nolan have yet to report their numbers.
