Coleman, Franken and Barkley to have debate No. 4 on Friday

Last update: October 20, 2008 - 12:17 AM

U.S. Senate candidates Norm Coleman, Al Franken and Dean Barkley will face off in another debate Friday on the public television news show "Almanac."

Franken, a DFLer, and Barkley, the Independence Party candidate, are both hoping to topple Coleman, the Republican incumbent. The three last squared off Thursday night in Duluth.

A recent poll by Quinnipiac University showed Franken and Coleman running about even -- Franken with 38 percent and Coleman with 36 percent. That difference is within the poll's error margin of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. Barkley came in at 18 percent.

The final debate will be held the weekend before the election at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.
