Country music — that twangy, red-headed stepchild — is at the center of pop for the first time in nearly a generation.
With artists like Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood topping the charts, packing arenas and popping up on television, old prejudices are disappearing, thanks in large part to the iPod generation.
