Gov. Tim Pawlenty's visit to Washington, D.C., earlier this week paid a dividend, in the form of a glowing column in Wednesday's Washington Post.
Post columnist Michael Gerson, a former speechwriter for George W. Bush, gave Pawlenty a bully pulpit to air out his conservative bona fides.
Writing that Pawlenty "is among the least known of Republicans angling for his party's presidential nomination in 2012," Gerson called him "the successful conservative governor of one of the most liberal states in the union -- as if Ronald Reagan had been elected in Sweden."
