Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer, R-Big Lake and Senate Majority Leader David Hann, R-Eden Prairie, passed out water and fruit snacks to daycare providers against the daycare unionization bill outside the House Chamber.

GOP Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, right, was unhappy that members hadn't yet had a chance to read the budget bills coming out of conference committees that were scheduled to be voted on the same day  and wanted to know from DFL House Speaker Paul Thissen when they would be available.

Rep. Ryan Winkler, DFL-Golden Valley was joined by his three young sons for dinner and a visit to the House floor.

Carri Speikers from Jordan, made a sign urging legislators to vote no on a bill on unionization of at-home daycare workers.

During a short House recess Rep. Pat Garofalo and Minority Leader Kurt Daudt got toy elephant gifts from the Senate.
