Rep. Kelby Woodard, R-Belle Plaine and Assistant Minority Leader is the Republican lead on education. He offered many amendments to rein in the K-12 education bill, most of which were defeated.

Rep. Joe McDonald, R-Delano, offered an amendment to the K-12 education bill that would shift funding to school lunch programs because federal mandates for more fruit and vegetables were causing lots of food to be thrown out. The amendment was defeated.
