With more big fights looming on the debt and budget, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison will join the Democrats' vote-counting operation in the new 113th Congress, party leaders in the House announced Friday. The Minnesota Democratic was named one of the party's chief deputy whips, working with Democratic Party Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland. Ellison, already in a leadership position as co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said he's excited "to continue the fight for good jobs for working families."
