Disabled voters can get a free ride to the polls on Nov. 6, courtesy of a coalition of Twin Cities charities.

Disabled adults are 20 percent less likely to vote than other Americans; a statistic the nonpartisan Ride to the Polls coalition would like to change.

Eligible voters can call 1-855-50-RIDES (1-855-507-4337) or email publicaffairs@couragecenter.org to schedule a ride to and from their precinct polling place. Trained volunteers in specially adapted minivans will pick voters up and drop them off as needed. The vans will roll across the Twin Cities metro area from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Groups participating in the Ride to the Polls program include the Courage Center, Goodwill/Easter Seals, Merrick Inc., and Arc Greater Twin Cities
