Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Dave Senjem said Friday that he doesn't think there are enough votes to pass the 'Right to Work' measure this session.

"The votes, frankly, aren't there on our side yet, in so far as I'm aware and they are not there yet from the standpoint, as far as I'm aware, from the House's perspective. Unless and until that would change, the bill is where it's at," Senjem said.

The measure has already attracted hundreds of angry union members to the Capitol, who see it as an attempt to bust the power of unions and lower wages and benefits.

It got its first Senate hearing on Monday but has yet to be heard in the House.

"We're waiting for some indication from the House that there is support enough to pass the bill and frankly in our own caucus, I'm not sure that we are quite there yet either so until we get a little more definitive information about this...we will probably keep it where it is," Senjem said.

Senjem did not say he was willing to declare the idea dead for the session, but indicated it is on life support.
