Michele Bachmann says her presidential polling dip was mostly the result of Republicans saying: "Here's a new candidate, let me see what the new candidate has to say," she told the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.

"My polling numbers haven't reflected any tremendous gaffe or mistake that happened in our campaign.... And I think one thing that we're seeing is a return of people to come back and take a second look at my candidacy," she told the South Carolina newspaper.

It should be noted that with the exception of Rick Perry, no one new has entered the race as her polling numbers have declined.

In the same question and answer session she went after Newt Gingrich on health care mandates, his former contract with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and after Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Herman Cain on abortion and Cain on lack of foreign policy knowledge.
