U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann plans to break her month-long streak of missed votes with a trip to Washington today to support a trade liberalization bill. It will be the first time the Minnesota Republican has cast a vote since Aug. 1. But in fairness, Congress took the month of August off, and voting did not resume again until Sept. 7. Since then, Bachmann has missed 88 roll call votes. For a list, click here. Bachmann made the announcement during an address before the New Hampshire Legislature in Concord, where she has been campaigning for president. Bachmann cast today's votes on liberalizing trade with Colombia, Panama and South Korea as part of a pro-growth agenda that she sees lacking in the Obama White House. "Today, I will return to Washington to vote for one of the components of that plan, finalizing free trade agreements that the president could have passed, but delayed far too long, costing our fellow citizens thousands of jobs," Bachmann said. Bachmann has missed more than half the roll call votes in Congress since she launched her bid for the White House in June.
