As she mulls a run for the White House, Rep. Michele Bachmann boosted her foreign policy credentials last week with a congressional trip to Mexico and Columbia.
Bachmann returned Friday afternoon Thursady evening (update: the delegation was initially scheduled to return Friday but changed plans) from her trip abroad, which she made as part of her new role on the House Intelligence Committee.
The five-member delegation was the first to travel abroad with the Intelligence Committee in the new Congress, said committee spokeswoman Susan Phalen.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on drug cartels and security issues. They also met with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.
