Minnesota's campaign finance board slapped former Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer's campaign with a $150 fine this week for improperly accepting a contribution from a local company.

Realikor, a property maintenance company, donated $250 to Emmer's campaign this summer without also providing a required disclosure of receipts and expenses. State law also prohibits corporate contributions to candidates. Emmer's committee returned the donation this December.

The campaign finance board also found that Emmer's campaign unknowingly received an improper donation from a lobbyist, who did not disclose his registration number with his contribution. The lobbyist was fined $200.

Senate Assistant Majority Leader David Senjem, R-Rochester, was fined $250 for making an illegal contribution to the campaign of Sen. Paul Koering, R-Fort Ripley.
