Already a national figure, a unnamed source now tells ABC that U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is eyeing a run for president.

"ABC News has learned that Bachmann, R-Minn., also is seriously weighing whether to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012," the report said.

In the piece, her chief of staff didn't squash the thinking.

Meanwhile, ex-Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who has been angling for 2012 presidential stature for more than a year, formally announced his bio-book tour with stops for readers (aka voter/donors) in DC, Florida, Texas, New Hampshire and Iowa.

According to ABC, Bachmann also has an Iowa trip planned.

So, Hot Dish readers, how do you compare Pawlenty for President v. Bachmann for President?
