Time for another recount? So it would seem, according to Tuesday's graphic in the Washington Post showing how money doesn't always buy elections (though usually it does). Just ask Sharron Angle and Carly Fiorina. Turns out some big spenders lost in congressional races around the country. Included in the tally was the Minnesota Republican, who raised more than $11 million and got 159,479 votes in return. That works out to $69 per vote. It's a stunning figure, to be sure. But Post readers might have been a little confused by the absence of a little red box next to her name that was supposed to indicate that she won her election. (Just like Harry Reid, who also weighed in at $69 a vote). Wishful thinking on the part of the elite East Coast media? We sometimes make mistakes too here at the Star Tribune, so we'll give our WaPo colleagues a pass on the conspiracy charge.
