President Barack Obama may attract the Democrats during his Saturday rally but Republican hope to gin up some excitement of their own.
Obama will be in town to fete DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton at the University of Minnesota at 1 p.m. At that time Saturday, Republican Tom Emmer will be rallying his own faithful at Godfather's Pizza in Burnsville. Unless that's the world's biggest pizza joint, Obama and Dayton may have numbers on their side at that moment.
Emmer will also appear at three other rallies: in Woodbury (with U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann at 11:30 am), in Chanhassen (with state Sen. Julianne Ortman at 2:30 p.m.) and in Minnetonka (with U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen at 4:30 p.m.)
