When he won the DFL nomination for governor, former Sen. Mark Dayton asked President Obama and his running mate for him to help him win the office for the first time since a Democrat, Rudy Perpich, held it.
Biden did his part last week, holding a red-meat Democratic rally and buckraising at a downtown St. Paul hotel and the Dayton campaign sent an e-mail Saturday saying that Obama's confirmed that he's coming to town on Oct. 23. (Obama's visit has been general knowledge for awhile, but details have been scant (and still pretty much are).
