About 50 protesters gathered outside the Minneapolis offices of U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Tuesday, demanding that she vote against a $33 billion supplemental appropriation for the war in Afghanistan. About two dozen members of the group, representing a variety of peace, religious and student groups, went into Klobuchar's office to deliver a letter and remained there until after it closed. A representative of the group said that they spoke briefly with Klobuchar by phone and that nine protesters were ticketed for trespassing.
