House Republican leaders have again arrived at the governor's residence to resume talks with Gov. Mark Dayton as they attempt to end an impasse over education, the environment, jobs and energy bills.

Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, and Majority Leader Joyce Peppin, R-Rogers, have arrived for afternoon meetings after a midday break that follows a mid-morning break.

Neither Republicans nor Dayton have spoken today to the media, which has huddled under umbrellas in the rain awaiting the arrival of GOP leaders.

The two sides ended the legislative session without an agreement on education and especially prekindergarten, as well environmental and energy regulation.

Layoff notices will go out to about 9,400 state employees Monday, though they would remain in their jobs until the end of June.
