Pawlenty campaign hauled in more than $850,000 in '07

Last update: January 30, 2008 - 9:41 AM

Governor Tim Pawlenty collected more than $850,000 for his campaign last year, an unusually high amount for a non-election year.

Pawlenty's campaign finance report shows he ended the year with $375,000 in the bank.

Political director Trisha Hamm says the governor hasn't ruled out running for a third term in 2010. She expects him to decide late this year.

Hamm said the campaign plans to buy radio and television ads to promote Pawlenty's legislative goals this year.

Pawlenty's campaign spent more than $640,000 in 2007, most of it for fundraising and radio ads urging voters to oppose tax increases proposed by legislative Democrats.
