Polling places across the state open at 7 a.m. and will stay open until 8 p.m.

Today's election: This time around, it’s the governor’s office, the state’s eight congressional seats, legislative seats, local offices and levy requests. Voter turnout is not likely to rival the crush of the 2008 presidential election, but election officials predict 2.2 million Minnesotans will cast ballots.

All that’s required is a legal photo identification card, a utility bill showing a voter’s residence or a signed affidavit from another resident in the voter’s precinct. Rides to polling places are available.
