Carrie Gustafson, co-owner of Sonny�s Creama Caf� in Minneapolis was embraced by family friend, John Liljequist (cq). Liljequist�s son, Kai, 2, and father, Henry (Hank) joined him at the caf� Saturday morning. Gustafson is the longtime partner of Ron Siron, son of the Caf�s namesake who recently passed away. Minneapolis, MN., Friday, 10/5/2001. This is a story of how one simple economic outcome of the WTC attack can affect many people economically. The focus is the in-flight meal: a slice of pizza, a salad and a scoop of ice cream. NWA, financially strapped, cancels meals. That leads to layoffs at Sky Chef (we have photo of a worker), layoffs at Davanni's pizza, which supplied the pizza, and ramifications at dairies, Hormel, and Sonny's ice cream, which has supplied nwa with ice cream for 40 years. Hit by the loss, they're re-opening crema cafe on lyndale to make up for it. Sonny and Ron will be there, hopefully making ice cream.
