The former Ripley Maternity Hospital in Minneapolis was transformed into 52 rentals and eight for-sale units for low-income residents. What made this project sustainable is that existing buildings were saved and new ones that are energy-efficient and sustainable were built. It was one of the first four Minnesota Green Communities Demonstration Projects.
