Buffalo goalie Clint Malarchuk clutched his throat after suffering a lacerated neck against St. Louis on March 22, 1989. The Sabres’ Uwe Krupp checked the Blues’ Steve Tuttle into the goal post, and Malarchuk was injured with a stick or skate.
