John Quaife, an agriculture microscopist with the state Department of Agriculture, has been examining samples of venison and finding more metal than he thought he would. He has a sample on the screen of a piece of metal that he found in a sample of venison Tuesday afternoon. The next step is to analyze it in another part of the lab to see if it is lead.
