64-year-old Roger Allison lost his left foot to diabetes complications a few of years ago. He's on the installment plan with lawyer Curtis Walker, waiting to come up with enough cash to file for bankruptcy. He's been making installment payments of $50 each month since January 2007. At the rate he's going, Allison won't have the payments completed until early next year. He shares his apartment with a parakeet named Anna Marie and a Cockatiel named Juliette.
