Teacher Raymond Mtazama goes over math assignments at the Peace House Secondary School in Arusha, Tanzania. Unlike many schools where classes hold 75 to 100 students, classrooms at the Peace House school, built and operated by a Minnesota foundation, have 30 to 40 students. Teachers are breaking from traditional Tanzanian teaching method, which is heavy on memorization, to try to teach students how to think creatively and solve problems.
