GLEN STUBBE � gstubbe@startribune.com -- Minneapolis, Minn. -- Thursday, April 3, 2008 -- Collected brain data is mapped to show interaction between points in the brain, This pattern in the upper right corner shows a pattern consistent with Alzheimer's. The University of Minnesota has set up a medical software company, Orasi Medical, that analyzes tiny magnetic fields produced by electrical activity in the brain to diagnose brain disorders including Alzheimer's, schizophrenia and multiple sclerosis. The method was discovered by U of M neuroscience professor Apostolos Georgopoulos. Orasi was set up to comercialize the discovery.
