July 22, 2008 - Minneapolis, MN - Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak introduced the unveiling of art designs that have a history of water and its relationship to the Mississippi River and Minneapolis at a press conference at the Guthrie Theater. The press conference unveiled the designs for ten new public art sculptures that will be water fountains built throughout the city and to celebrate the Mississippi River and the City's 150th anniversary. The art and fountain sites were chosen by the Minneapolis Arts Commission. They include: Second Avenue, Marquette Avenue, the Mozaic Development in Uptown, NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, Hennepin County Central Library, Hennepin County Northeast Library, Chicago Avenue Mall, Midtown YWCA, Ancient Trader's Market and Dinkytown.
