October 31, 2008 - St. Paul, MN - Vinh Ly attended a preventive care appointment under Dr. Kathleen Culhane-Pera at the East Side Family Clinic. Ly, who was there with her son-in-law Trong Vu, was there to get her flu shots and a basic check-up. Starting January, west metro hospitals are going to start paying for some preventive care for the uninsured to stop them from showing up for emergency care later. The East Side Family Clinic has had the program - run by an organization called Portico - for more than a decade.
