BPYOUTH0131:(01/31 AA people feature) Even though Matt Norris was moving out of Brooklyn Park last summer and preparing for his freshman year at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, he still spent his whole summer vacation working to create better opportunities for Brooklyn Park youth. During his internship as a youth planner, he organized the city's first Youth Summit, an event that corralled more than 50 youth in a gym for a whole day and actually got them involved in the city's plans for more youth activities. Now that he is a freshman in college, Norris hasn't left behind his hopes for Brooklyn Park. This month, he came back to the city to attend a mayor's forum on youth opportunities.
