With the temperature about zero degrees Thursday afternoon and a stiff wind out of the northwest, Department of Natural Resources large lakes specialist Gerry Albert of Grand Rapids prepared to fish perch on Lake Winnibigoshish. The frigid weather has kept the ice very thick, even into March.
