From a Robinson R-44 helicopter piloted by Scott Gibbens of Aniak, Alaska shooter Mark Keech of Fairbanks, Alaska, aims a dart rifle at a cow moose in the Superior National Forest near Isabella, Minn. Wednesday morning. The two were darting cow moose for a joint moose study by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The Robinson R-44 is the ideal aerial platform for darting moose because it does not stress out the animals as much as other helicopters.
