Glen Perkins has signed a contract extension with the Twins covering the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
The left-handed reliever, who had been under contract through 2015, will make $4.025 million in 2014, $4.65 million in 2015, $6.3 million in 2016 and $6.5 million in 2017.
The contract includes a club option at $6.5 million for 2018.
Perkins, 31, was 2-0 with a 2.30 ERA and 36 saves in 2013.
Perkins, who pitched for the University of Minnesota before being drafted in the first round of the 2004 draft, became the team's closer during the 2012 season, and made the American League All-Star team in 2013. He has saved 54 games over his two seasons as closer.
