It's easy to understand why Minnesota Twins fans are excited about genuine Kentucky bluegrass grown in Colorado and the groovy heating system to nurture it through harsh Aprils and Octobers ("Target Field has local sod growers green with envy," Aug 26). After all, we know that Minnesota grass and weather aren't good enough for our Twins.

Fortunately, the Twins realized that some Minnesota-made products are good enough. As a kid in St. Paul learning to play ball, Joe Mauer didn't have Colorado bluegrass shipped in refrigerated trucks. Yet somehow he became an All-Star catcher.

Let's hope that Minnesota beer and hot dogs are also judged to be good enough to appear in the new ballpark.
