Seriously, who cares about Donald Trump's politics?

The media does, that's who. And it's all because of a pro-Obama bias.

The notion that a fundraiser with Donald Trump is some kind of debacle for Mitt Romney is one more "shiny object" pushed by the Obama campaign so the media avoid examining President Obama's record.

It also makes clear how deep the media are in the tank for Obama.

I find it inconceivable that some Americans will change their votes because Trump raised money for Romney

. Voters, I suspect, aren't so dim as to disagree with Romney's comment: "You know, I don't agree with all the people who support me and my guess is they don't all agree with everything I believe in. But I need to get 50.1 percent or more, and I'm appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people."

Apparently, the fact that Romney has disclaimed any hint of birtherism is also no reason for journalists to restrain themselves.

Nor is hypocrisy a hindrance. Obama's super PAC continues to take money from Bill Maher, who not only demeans women in terms unprintable in the Washington Post but also has taken to anti-Mormon bigotry.

One Obama campaign bundler has produced a porn film. Another "has a history of blasting Israel in highly charged letters and newspaper articles about the Middle East conflict," the Washington Free Beacon reports.

Yet the media yawn.

You want the 2012 campaign in a nutshell? This week Romney is set to discuss how Obama's economic policies harm job creation.

Meanwhile, Obama wants to talk Trump.
