Gov. Tim Pawlenty leaves Thursday on a trade trip to Israel. We've supported Pawlenty and past governors who've traveled the world to promote Minnesota. Our state is fortunate to have a strong mix of companies with worldwide operations that are always looking for new business and trade partners. A governor can sell a state overseas in effective ways. Still, as news columnist Nick Coleman argued in today's Metro section, the state's current fiscal meltdown puts even more pressure on state leaders to take charge and stay on task. What's your opinion of the governor's trip? You can learn more about the Israel trade mission at the governor's website. Decide for yourself and give us your comments. We'll expect to weigh in with our own editorial tomorrow.
