A caption under a picture on Page B1 on Friday incorrectly made reference to the Minnesota Education Association convention this week. The group's name is Education Minnesota, and its Professional Conference is no longer referred to as MEA.

CLARIFICATION

A Katherine Kersten column on Page B1 Aug. 30 cited published accounts of demonstrators' actions during the 1999 World Trade Organization meetings in Seattle. Widespread dispute exists about those events. While some protesters were violent and destructive, there is no undisputed evidence that protesters employed Molotov cocktails or other explosives.
