Memorial Day weekend weather will start warm and wet then get progressively hotter and dryer throughout the state.
The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday with a chance as well on Sunday. By Monday, the weather should be dry with temperatures in the low 80s.
About an inch of rainfall is predicting for the weekend across a diagonal band of the state starting in Grand Marais then stretching down to the southwestern corner of the state. The remainder of the state is expected to get no more than half an inch of rainfall.
Some of the storm may verge on severe, according to the weather service. Storms should taper off and be scattered by Sunday, the weather service said.
High temperatures will start in the low to mid-70s then gradually climb into the 80s by Monday. Lows are forecast to be in the 55-60 degree range all weekend.
