Cavara, Arthur J. age 73, of Plymouth, passed away August 12, 2015 surroun-ded by his loving family. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Marlene and Bea. Survived by Susan, his loving wife of 20 years; sons, Nicholas (Jackie), Ben (Mameko), Joe (friend Erin); 2 granddaughters, Stella, Piper; stepchildren, Carrie (Caleb) Weinberg, Ben (Emily) Almich, Heather (John) McCabe; 7 step-grandchildren, Kaeli, Asher, Alex, Christian, Ana, Lane, Chase; other relatives & friends. Art was very passionate about his family and life. He had a huge heart that overflowed with compassion and generosity. He cared deeply about social justice issues on all levels. Art loved to travel, read, music, write poetry, short stories, and most of all, enjoyed teasing and joking with everyone. His lifelong career in Corrections commanded great respect and admiration by all who worked with and knew him. Art retired as Director of Ramsey County Adult Correctional Facility in March 2006. Memorials preferred to Frontal Temporal Dementia Assoc., Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Assoc., or Union Gospel Mission of Mpls.
